Workshop on Testing Smart Contracts

Workshop on Testing Smart Contracts

The workshop kicked off with a brief presentation of the Tezos protocol. Tezos Ukraine’s co-founders Mihai Tsybuliak and Sergei Vasilchiuk spoke about the protocol’s operation, the goals of Tezos Ukraine, and wages typical for blockchain devs.

Then the Baking Bad developer and the winner of the last DeFi hackathon and the creator of Juster.fi Stepan Naumov read a lecture on development. He showed how to test a smart contract for vulnerabilities with PyTezos and write a simple working interface for an app using Taquito and Beacon. You can check out his lecture on YouTube and study the workshop’s materials available at GitHub.

Finally, Stepan presented the final practical task: use the testing techniques to locate and fix two vulnerabilities in a smart contract for selling NFTs and publish the fixed contract on the Granadanet testnet, and the tests on GitHub.

The first ones to do the task were the following users:

They have already received $500 worth of tez each.

Now we can sum up the results of the course for rookie developers:

  • over 10k views for the course;
  • over 1,900 views for the workshop;
  • new active members came to the Tezos Ukraine chat.

We are happy that the popularity of Tezos and blockchain development is on the rise, and so, refreshed, proceed with our next project, an online course on decentralised finance.
