Organizations and Developer Libraries on Tezos
We're releasing the feature devoted to covering the organizations that help make up the Tezos ecosystem and the different libraries available for building on the Tezos blockchain.
The Tezos Foundation, located in Zug, Switzerland, makes up the backbone in the Tezos ecosystem as the entity that funds and gives our grants to further the Tezos ecosystem. The Tezos Foundation is a Swiss foundation, supervised by the Swiss Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority and their purpose is “the promotion of the Tezos protocol through grants and other capital deployment vehicles.” The Tezos Foundation releases bi-annual audit reports to the public to let the public know its financial health. In their latest report which was released in March 2020, the Tezos Foundation had total assets worth about $635 million USD. For more information on the annual report, please see:

Norn Community, Russia: https://norn.community/projects/tezos-notifier-bot/
The Norn Community Russia, created the Tezos Notifier bot for Tezos users using Telegram. This is one of the favorite bots used to keep track of addresses and transactions associated with that wallet address.
Tezos Rio, Brazil: https://tezos.rio/
Tezos Rio are the creators of the Tezzet wallet. Another part of Tezos.Rio’s mission is that they, are “fostering building a “Software Development Kit” so that developers from other traditional computer languages (like Android or Plain Java) could create applications that interact with Tezos blockchain network in a seamless way. We have developed a library called TezosJ_SDK. It allows any Java programmer to create his own Tezos Wallet. This opens a myriad of integration possibilities, like Tezos in mobile apps. Also, with the use of a common JAR file, it is possible to extend its use to other computer languages, like .NET, Coldfusion, Python, PHP, and much more. TezosJ_SDK was nominated to a Tezos Foundation grant and was awarded, getting resources to move forward.”

Tezos China is one of the newer organizations within the Tezos ecosystem. One of their missions is to help build a Tezos community within China. They are slowly getting started, however one should keep an eye on them as once the sleeping dragon awakes in the East, they will roar and build a strong Tezos community within China.

One of the oldest Tezos organization, Tezos Commons “supports the ideas, individuals and organizations dedicated to building the digital commonwealth. We empower the community to be the architects through bootstrapping local communities, communications, promotion, education, funding open source initiatives and advocacy.” Tezos Commons are the hosts of TezTalks and produce many high level articles about people building in the Tezos ecosystem. They are one of two teams behind TezosAgora which helps users learn about the Tezos governance structure with real time data on the voting of new amendments.

The Tezos India Foundation are the creators behind Tezsure and are working on an oracle solution called Oro. Their mission is threefold: first, “subjects like Formal Verification, OCaml and Michelson are covered during the workshops in collaboration with universities. Our goal is to educate and discover new Tezos engineers in India.” Second, “to have the best reach in the country with 1.3 billion people, the Tezos India Foundation hosts events in seven different cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad.” Lastly, “We support technology research through industry-university collaboration. Through partnerships and consulting with companies we can grow the Tezos ecosystem further in India.”

Simply stated, “Tezos Israel is an innovation lab that serves the Israeli ecosystem in educating, training, and onboarding blockchain technology.” They are constantly developing new technology and work with their partners to understand the potential advantages of Tezos, and through their R&D center, create new innovative ways for their practical business use cases.

Tezos Japan support all Tezos activities in Japan with support, training utilizing external resources, local university support. On top of that, they provide research, development, information provision and consulting on Tezos platform. They also help with promotion of Tezos project and grant of subsidies through various organizations, universities, research institutes, etc. Their business side helps with the promotion of recruitment to businesses, technology provision/introduction support activities for companies considering Tezos-based businesses, industry-academia collaboration, etc. Lastly, they assist in development and support for developers technical provision, education, and subsidy activities for developers, including universities and research institutes.

Tezos Korea is a Korean Tezos community that helps Korea users navigate the Tezos ecosystem. They run a community organizer forum that provide updates for the community including some troubleshooting in the Korean language.
Tezos Southeast Asia, Singapore: https://www.tezos.org.sg/
Tezos Southeast Asia is an independent non-profit association run and fully led by locals from Singapore, complemented by established industry veterans who provide strategic advice and oversight. Their mission statement is that they believe Tezos will fuel social, political, and economic innovation on a global scale. Their core mission is to support the Tezos protocol and ecosystem in service of this goal. They seek to empower individuals and entities from all over the world to create a robust and decentralized digital commonwealth.

Tezos Ukraine (TU) was created and exists as part of this ecosystem. Located in Ukraine, a group of technology adherents who are actively collaborating with the global Tezos community, in 2020, the group joined together to create “Tezos Ukraine”. “Tezos Ukraine” is a public organization, created and registered in 2020 under the auspices of Ukraine, and is headquartered in Kyiv. The founders are Sergey Vasilchuk linkedin and Mihai Tsybulyak linkedin. Tezos Ukraine views the mission of its creation as the search and development of innovative technological solutions in the field of new, open and decentralized software architectures that can become an answer to the challenges of modern society. Tezos Ukraine is behind the Tezos Giga Node Project among other projects in the works. They are a younger organization that has been constantly improving and building on the Tezos blockchain including being one of the driving forces behind Ukraine’s central bank digital currency project.

Tezos.help, located in Sweden, is one of the favorite websites frequented by many for all things Tezos related. From organizational overviews, to Tezos news, to Tezos resources, Tezos.help is a one stop shop for it all.
TQ Tezos, USA: https://tqtezos.com/
TQ Tezos (Tocqueville Group) are one of the largest organizations in the Tezos ecosystem. Located in New York City, they put on one of the largest Tezos gatherings, Tquorum. They also have an in house developer team that are working on things like oracles and helping maintain baking tools like Kiln. They are also the other team behind TezosAgora, which helps users track and learn the governance system including proposals being voted on.
Libraries that are used to build on Tezos:
TezosKit is a Swift SDK that makes Tezos development easy on iOS and MacOS. This is one of the favorite libraries to use when developing on Tezos with a mac-based operating system. The library is well maintained with an abundance of information to help any Mac user.
Go Tezos is a GoLang library for easily interaction with the Tezos blockchain. It is a driven library for your Tezos node. This library has received a grant from the Tezos Foundation to ensure it’s continuous development through 2020. It is well maintained with many more developments to come.
PyTezos library is a Python toolset for Tezos blockchain, including work with keys, signatures, contracts, operations, RPC query builder, and a high-level interface for smart contract interaction. It can be used to build a full-fledged application, but also it’s perfect for doing researches in Jupyter interactive notebooks. PyTezos is well maintained by one of most favorite developer group, Baking Bad.
Simply stated, NeTezos is a .Net Standard 2.0 library for working with Tezos. It was created and maintained by Baking Bad. It is full of helpful information for those working with the .Net Standard.
The AirGapIt library is well maintained by the creators of the AirGap wallet on Tezos. It’s a library that offers a unified API to prepare, sign and broadcast for Tezos among other cryptocurrencies. It is a protocol-agnostic library that allows easy handling of the most important tasks relating cryptocurrencies and blockchains. The library consists of a shared interface for all implements protocols. This is especially useful in the context of AirGap.
