Why Tezos: a Few Words From Tezos Ukraine’s Startup Accelerator Program Participants

April 9, Tezos Ukraine launched a startup accelerator for beginner developers. By now, eight applicants have already been selected and proceeded with learning. Two more are getting their test assignments ready.

Young developers fear no obstacles in learning new technology. They are interested in Tezos’s prospects, and they enjoy the support and mentorship from Tezos Ukraine.

This week, the first group of frontend devs commenced their studies. So let’s get to know the new members of the Tezos ecosystem, and wish them all luck!

Studies at the accelerator

There are three groups of accelerator members: frontend, backend/smart contracts, and DevOps. The first phase of the training program lasts two months. Every week the groups get their theoretical materials and tasks, and every Friday a mentor checks up on their progress.

Once they’re done with the theory, the participants will form teams and start working on their first projects. This phase’s goal is to make a working project and present it to the mentors. Once it’s over, the most interesting part begins: the work on actual projects with experienced developers, and preparing for Tezos Blockchain Hackathon 2022.

Why did you decide to become a Tezos developer?

I liked the conditions offered by the accelerator. Tezos Ukraine offered some conditions unique to the IT market: the members get expertise, mentorship, practical skills, and a scholarship. I’m also interested in getting a job at major blockchain companies like Attic Labs and Everstake.

Didn’t you fear it would be too difficult?

No, I’m actually into difficulties. I want to participate in Tezos Blockchain Hackathon 2022 even though I’ve only read about this competition format for developers before.

Will you keep on learning to develop on the blockchain?

Yes, blockchain technology offers innovation. Decentralized networks have prospects for users and devs alike.

Didn’t you fear it would be too difficult?

I feared a bit though I understood that learning anything requires effort and patience. I told myself not to fear but to do my best while acquiring the new information.

Will you keep on learning to develop on the blockchain?

Yes. I believe blockchain developers have great prospects.

Why did you decide to become a Tezos developer?

I have no experience in commercial development but I’m willing to absorb new knowledge. The accelerator got me interested with its mentorship program and the work on actual tasks as Tezos is my first time working with crypto.

Didn’t you fear it would be too difficult?

No. An interesting task cannot be easy.

Will you keep on learning to develop on the blockchain?

If I’m interested, yes.

Volodymyr Hrabovskiy

I used to be involved in mockups and full-stack development. Also, I worked with Ethereum Classic. Tezos Ukraine’s accelerator is an opportunity to obtain new experience and learn Tezos’s specific features from practical work.

Didn’t you fear it would be too difficult?

No. I believe that any challenge is a chance for progress waiting to happen.

Will you keep on learning to develop on the blockchain?

Yes. I believe blockchain is a promising area.
